Khas Khas Halwa

I was craving to have something sweet but at the same time wanted to have Indian. But i was feeling guilty as i was on my diet. I did not want to loose the chian. I am getting married in a few months and i want to look really nice as every women want to look simple and trim. So when i woken on sunday i was thinking what do i make for breakfast Khas Khas upma or khas khas salad... Then i was like to let me make sweet. Then i searched up online and found few recipes and tired my own combo.

So this is for all the girls out there :-) for the one who is especially getting married

Ingredients

Khas Khas 1 cup
Almond 1 cup
Cardamon powder 1tsp
Sugar 2- 5 tsp (or you can add more if you are not on a diet)
Ghee 1tsp ( i used olive oil here)
Milk 1-2 cups (i have used one cup skim milk
Almond to decorate or you can use strands too

Method

1. Soak Khas Khas and Almond for 5-6 hours separately
2.Drain out the water
3. Grind the Khas Khas
4. Then grind the Almond ( de skin the almond or grind with it , it doesn't matter)
5. Take a thick bottomed vessel and add ghee or oil
6. Then add cardamon powder followed by khas khas
7. Mix the khas khas well for about 10-15 mins, keep mixing to ensure it doesn't catch the bottom
8. Now add the almond and mix well with the khas Khas. Mix for another 10 mins. Here you will get a good aroma :-)
9. Now add sugar and mix until sugar has mixed with the other ingredients
10. Finally add milk and mix for 5-6 minutes, bubbles will start appearing. Mix until your halwa is thick

Garnish with Almond of Strands :-)
