Oats Idli

Ingredients

Oats 2 cups
Semolina 3/4 cup
Carrot 1
Ginger 7-8 small pieces
Green chilies 3
Peas 1/4 cup
Mustard 1/2 tsp
Oil 2 tsp
Curds 1 cup
Baking soda 1/2 tsp
Salt as per taste
Water 1 1/2 cup

Method
1. Roast the oats on a tava or kadai until you get a aroma, keeping mixing to ensure it doesn't get brunt. Roast for a 1-2 mins not more than that
2. In the same tava roast semolina until you see the color is changed
3. Keep both aside to cool
4. Now grate the carrot, cut the green chillies and ginger and keep all this aside
5. Now your oats and semolina would have cooled down
. Grind only the oats to a fine powder
6. In a bowl add oats flour and semolina and keep this flour aside.



7. In the same tava or kadai add oil and then mustard, let the mustard splutter, then add green chillies and ginger on a medium flame. Mix both well and now add the carrot and peas. You need to mix for 2-3 minutes. Once you are done keep this aside.
8. You need to add the above mixture to the flour and now add curd, salt and water. Mix really well ( i normally mix the flour with my hand it gets mixed well but if you are not comfortably use a spoon) Now finally add soda and mix well.
9. Once your batter is ready,  keep it aside for 15 mins

Mix well before your pour in the idli platter. (if its really thick you can add water)

Enjoy with your favorite chutney ( this time i made flake n peanut chutney and tomato garlic chutney)
